- 0:00 Part 3. You will hear two environmental science students, Tom and Chloe, discussing their project on urban beekeeping. First, you have some time to look at questions 21 to 25.
- 0:23 Now listen carefully and answer questions 21 to 25.
- 0:29 Tom: So, for our project on urban beekeeping, I thought we could focus on the history of beekeeping.
- 0:35 Chloe: Hmm, that's been done a lot. I'd rather look at the effect on wild bees.
- 0:41 Tom: Good point. Let's focus on the effect on wild bees, then.
- 0:46 Tom: How about collecting our data through counting hives from photos?
- 0:50 Chloe: I think interviews with beekeepers would give us much better information.
- 0:55 Tom: OK, agreed.
- 0:57 Tom: The biggest problem so far has been finding enough participants, hasn't it?
- 1:02 Chloe: Definitely. The cost of equipment was a minor issue by comparison, and we sorted that out quickly.
- 1:10 Chloe: When I saw the tutor, I expected her to tell us to read more recent studies, but in fact she said we should narrow the research question.
- 1:19 Tom: That makes sense.
- 1:21 Tom: For the final presentation, should we make a written report?
- 1:24 Chloe: I'd prefer a short video. It'll be more engaging.
- 1:29 Tom: Fine, let's do that.
- 1:32 Before the discussion continues, you have some time to look at questions 26 to 30.
- 1:47 Now listen and answer questions 26 to 30.
- 1:51 Tom: Is the deadline still Monday?
- 1:54 Chloe: No, it's been moved. It's now Wednesday.
- 1:58 Tom: How many participants should we include? 30?
- 2:03 Chloe: I don't think that's realistic. Let's aim for 20.
- 2:08 Tom: Who is going to write the introduction?
- 2:10 Chloe: You're better at that than me, Tom. Would you do it?
- 2:15 Tom: Sure, I can do that.
- 2:17 Tom: What should we do first? Should we book a room in the library?
- 2:22 Chloe: Before that, we really need to email the tutor.
- 2:26 Tom: Shall we meet in the café next time?
- 2:28 Chloe: It's always too noisy there. Let's meet in the seminar room.
- 2:34 Tom: OK, see you there.
